Fifteen Digital looks forward to further growth after
doubling in size and more than tripling turnover
IT and marketing specialist Fifteen Digital is heading towards the £2 million turnover mark as it continues to expand.
It comes after the company successfully acquired the Silverdale operation of telecoms company Sitelink Communications.
The business has also invested in new office space after outgrowing its original unit, creating an interactive demo suite at its Park Hall base for clients to try out the services it offers.
Director Rob Adams said it is a far cry from where the business was three years ago, when turnover stood at about £600,000.
Fifteen Digital made just £363 that year, forcing Mr Adams and his fellow directors, brother Mark Adams and John Borthwick, to take a fresh look at the business.
At the same time they were approached to take part in the GrowthAccelerator programme, and were introduced to business coach Mike Santopietro.
Now Fifteen Digital has doubled in size, employing 24 staff and looking towards further growth in the future.
Mr Adams said: "We've been on the programme for about 18 months, going through different learning curves ourselves and investing in the staff as well in terms of their skills and training.
"The culmination of all that is we've seen the business double in size.
"Turnover, not taking into account the acquisition, is at about £1.3 million while we estimate with the telecoms we will be a £2 million business.
"But there has been no additional funding – all that's been put into the business is the skills of our strategic coach Mike.
"It's allowed us as directors to grow as people and to grow our skills, and that's allowed the business to grow.
"Mike brought a whole new viewpoint to the business."
The culture change at Fifteen Digital, which also has an office in Darlington, has seen the introduction of regular staff and customer surveys and team-building away days.
As well as expanding its headquarters, its original offices at Park Hall Business Village are being given a makeover while the demo suite showcases all the services the business offers – from supplying technology and IT support, through to software development, website design and marketing.
The acquisition of Sitelink Communications' Silverdale operation has led to Ian Walker joining the group as director of Fifteen Communications and expanded the business's expertise even further.
For example, it has integrated and developed the technology available so that when a client picks up a call to a customer, their records automatically come up on screen.
Mr Santopietro said: "The good thing about working with the Fifteen Digital team is that you know they are going to do what they say they are going to do.
"I might have helped to give them guidance and focus but they have done all the work."
